Programs Offered at Westside

Dance

Westside offers a variety of opportunities for students to discover the art of dance. Dance classes are available for everyone from age 2½ through adult, in a wide range of styles including acrobatic, ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern, and tap.

Each class is structured to match the age and abilities of the individual and taught by trained, highly qualified dance instructors. The goal of our dance program is to help our students develop self-confidence, coordination, sense of rhythm, flexibility, and overall knowledge of dance.

All dance students have the opportunity to perform on a professional stage in our annual dance recital held each year in June. Westside Academy is also the proud home of the Westside Performing Company, a talented group of dancers who perform at community events and travel nationally for competitions and training, and the Westside Ballet Company, which produces a colorful performance of the Nutcracker Suite in December.

Gymnastics

Westside offers gymnastics classes for all age groups and skill levels, from beginner through advanced competitive teams. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, challenging program that rewards our students with high degrees of strength, coordination, and self confidence. All gymnastics students have the opportunity to show off the skills they learn at our annual "Mini Olympics" exhibition held each year in June. Our competitive gymnasts travel to many local, state, regional and national meets throughout the year.

Westside Academy is proud to offer one of the largest gymnastics facilities of its kind in Oregon—12,000 square feet of high quality USA Gymnastics certified equipment.

Preschool

Our preschool program offers a creative environment that encourages children to build a positive self-image using their energy and talents in a fun, active atmosphere that enhances each child's unique individuality. Activities for the preschool curriculum include gymnastics, Kindergym, tap, jazz, ballet, Sports Fitness Fun, basic readiness skills, and social skills. Preschool children must be three years old by September of the year they are enrolling for.

There's a new adventure every Preschool Friday. Students will learn dances and create crafts related to the theme of the day like Care Bears, Sesame Street and Jo Jo’s Circus. Campers will enjoy time in the Bounce Castle and trampoline. Lots of fun for your little one! Half-day adventure, with snack included.

After School Care

With pickup provided from most local schools, Westside provides an exciting alternative for your school-age child care needs. Children are provided with a safe, fun, caring environment including snacks, homework time, play time, field trips, movies and other activities. Children participating in our After School Care Program are also enrolled in a dance or gymnastics class on the days they attend. Care is provided until 6:00 p.m. on all school days, and all-day care is available on most school holidays and teacher working days.

Summer Camps

Are you ready to "jump in" and "get your head in the game?" Try our exciting Summer Camps where "best friends" and "club houses" will be featured and "jungles" will be explored all while flippin' and dancing to your favorite hits!

Birthday Parties

Celebrate your birthday at Westside! Choose a Dance, Gymnastics, or one of our Specialty Party Packages as the birthday theme. Birthday parties last an hour and a half, with 45-55 minutes of fun-filled activities led by an instructor, and 35-45 minutes to celebrate in a private party room.

All Day Activity Camp

Activities include dance, gymnastics, games, acrobatics, swimming, theatre arts plays, trampoline, field trips, Inflatable Bounce House fun, arts & crafts, and more. As part of the camp, students attend one of our half day morning camps each week. There is a field trip every day, and during afternoon free time we'll have movies and games or play in the gym. Bring your own lunch and morning snack but afternoon snack will be provided.
