Recreational Dance Program
Westside offers recreational classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater and Acrobatics. Our accelerated Dance Troupe trains in all areas and is a great path to our performance groups, including our Hip Hop Company, Ballet Company, Elite Acrobatics, Performing Company and Northwest Fusion. Company dancers perform and compete locally and nationally. Many dancers participate in our annual Nutcracker/Holiday showcase and spring recital.

You must enter valid bank info – if bank detail is invalid a charge of $38 will be assessed and your child may be removed from classes or wait lists.

Class Descriptions
Ballet students learn classical positions, barre work, centre floor, leaps & pirouettes. Ballet is the fundamental building block of all major dance styles.
Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
Disney Hip Hop is a high energy class which highlights the fundamentals of hip hop, set to your favorite Disney tunes.
Hip Hop is a high energy class which highlights popular styles of hip hop, including breaking, locking, and popping. Music and dance moves are always age appropriate, fast paced and fun!
Jazz includes the latest dance moves with technique training in flexibility, turns, leaps & choreography. A great basic foundation for school dance teams, theater, and cheer.
Jazz/Acro Combine the rhythm and energy of jazz dance with the strength and flexibility of acrobatics in this class. Perfect for kids 9 and up, this dynamic program will build confidence, improve coordination, and foster creativity. Students will learn a variety of jazz techniques while developing acrobatic skills. Get ready to defy gravity and express yourself through movement!
Junior Express is a teacher placement Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Acro class for dancers continuing the beginning phases of accelerated dance education. Members will participate in our annual Holiday Showcase.
Mini Express is a teacher placement Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Acro class for dancers continuing the beginning phases of accelerated dance education. Members will participate in our annual Holiday Showcase.
Movers & Shakers is the perfect class for our youngest students to get their wiggles out while having the assistance of a family member. Students will participate in dancing, creative movement, and tumbling with friends in the gym. Students will need tap shoes for class. A fun and interactive way to get your child moving!
Musical Theater –Broadway here you come! This class will be an introduction to skills in acting, dancing, and theatricality to entertain and wow your audience.
Open Acro is designed to teach more advanced drills, progressions and flexibility training to students who want to learn basic Gymnastics and Acro skills for Cheerleading, Dance Teams and advanced Acrobatic classes. Most acrobatic classes are held at the Training Center. Please note location. Classes held at the Training Center are drop off only.
Petite Express is a teacher placement Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Acro class for dancers wishing to expand their dance education to a more accelerated level. Students will participate in our annual Nutcracker in addition to the June Recital.
Pom is a high energy class that combines sharp arm movements, precise formations, dance technique, and lots of spirit! Rooted in traditional cheer and jazz, Pom emphasizes clean lines, synchronization, and powerful performance quality. This class is taught by our Hip Hop program director and former professional NBA dancer, Trinity Moore who brings firsthand experience from the court to the studio. Dancers will learn proper Pom technique, build stamina, and master dynamic routines that highlight strength, showmanship, and teamwork. Perfect for beginners eager to bring the energy and learn a unique, spirited style of dance.
Pre-Ballet is a perfect class for the younger ballet student. This class includes ballet positions, barre work, floor, leaps and turns. Helps develop coordination and grace.
Princess Dance is an innovative class designed to introduce children to basic tap, jazz, acrobatics and ballet technique, through movement, literature and personal expression. Princess Dance II is designed for students that have completed a year of dance.
Storybook Ballet is a unique class designed to introduce children to basic ballet positions and technique through movement, literature and personal expression. Classic Storybook favorites are woven into the curriculum.
Tap dancers will develop rhythm, coordination, clarity of sounds and training in the fundamentals of tap.
Tap Hop Get ready to stomp, shuffle, and groove! Tap Hop is a fun-filled 50-minute class that introduces young dancers to the exciting styles of tap, hip hop, and tumbling in an energetic and age-appropriate environment. Dancers will build coordination, rhythm, balance, and confidence while learning basic tap steps, beginner hip hop moves, and introductory tumbling skills such as rolls, bridges, and other foundational floor work. Through music, games, and creative movement, this class encourages self-expression, teamwork, and a love of dance—all while having tons of fun!
Tap/Jazz is a combination class covering all the basics of jazz and tap in a fun, upbeat environment.
Tap/Jazz/Tumble students learn the joy of dance and tumbling in a combination class. A fast paced variety of movement make this class one of our most popular. Tap/Tumble is designed for energetic movers and shakers ages 3-5! Young dancers will explore the exciting rhythms of tap dance and learn basic tumbling skills like forward rolls, jumps, and balances. This playful class enhances coordination, musicality, and gross motor skills in a supportive and creative environment. Join us for a fun-filled introduction to the worlds of dance and acrobatics. (CLASS HELD AT THE MINI GYM)
Dress Code
Hair for all genders
Long hair should be pulled back in a neat ponytail or braid

Please wear comfortable, appropriate dance wear that allows for easy movement. All shoes should be reserved for dance class and kept clean. Required shoes (except Hip Hop) are available in the Pro-Shop.

: Students & family members enrolled in 3+ hrs Accelerated/Performance Groups/Gym Teams receive 40% discount towards additional classes
: All families will be charged a single annual registration fee of $40
: The customer is responsible for notifying the office of any changes to their child’s enrollment. No tuition refunds will be given once a new month has started. If a student drops mid-month, they will be eligible for an in-house credit on their account only. This may be applied to any future classes or events. Please note that all make ups are forfeited at the time you drop your class.
: Enrollment notification deadline: It is the customer's responsibility to inform our office in writing of any changes to their child's enrollment. If we are not notified by the last day of the month to drop a class, tuition will be automatically charged on the 1st of the month. No tuition refunds will be given once a new month has started. If a student drops out of a class mid-month, an administrative fee of $15 will be charged, and a pro-rated in-house credit will be given on their account only. No credits will be given for classes dropped with fewer than two classes remaining in the current month. This credit may be applied to any future classes or events. Note that you will forfeit all make-ups when you drop your class.
For all families NOT set up on our Autopay, please note the following late fee changes:
* if tuition is not received by the 5th of the month, a $25 late fee will be incurred
* payment not received by the 10th of the month will incur an additional $25 late fee
* payments not received by the 15th of the month will result in your child being dropped from the class/es he/she is enrolled in. We can not guarantee space availability to re-enroll if your child is dropped from a class.
: Workshops, Camps, Parents Night Out, Birthday Parties and Lunch Bunch are not eligible for extra discounts, unless specified per event
